The First 24 Hours: Day 9— Kaam Pachees!
If you were unfortunate enough to not watch Sacred Games, it is to inform you that “Kaam 25 bole toh Game Over”(ft. DIVINE xD)
The season of rejections(also known as Placements and/or Valentine’s week) is finally here. Deliberately or by mistake, we need to prepare ourselves for it.
In my opinion, Rejection is a very underrated phenomenon because handling it is not only important but it comes with a much larger price of self-doubt and despair.
One of my friends from the other college had the summer internships results out and even after being so confident about his selection and the hard-work he had done, he didn’t get selected. He called me and explained how he was so busy working throughout his college life but the “Buri Kismat” (or “Shani ka Prakop” some may call it!) is not going anywhere for a long time and he feels that it’s all over now.
I could not agree with that because of two major reasons.
First, I believe, if something is happening for a “long time”, it’s more suitable to reconsider your lifestyle and priorities rather than your kismat.
One very helpful way to do that follows the 80/20 rule(also known as the Pareto Principle).
It states that 20% of your activities will account for 80% of your results.
That means if you have a list of 10 items to do, then probably 2 of those items will add more value than the other 8 put together. Many people are busy procrastinating all the top 10(or 20) and hence do not realize the difference between being busy and being productive!
Second, I am a Bollywood fan(idk why but I am proud of it too xD) and it taught me that if we don’t have a happy ending then “ Picture abhi baaki hai mere dost!”
I have realised that once you start focusing on what is not working, you will eventually get to know what will work in the near future.
So, the next time rejection knocks your door and you encounter your “Kaam 25” moment, remember that,
“What the caterpillar calls the end of the world the master calls a butterfly.”
Happy weekend!
