The First 24 Hours: Day 15 — Mann Ki Baat!

“Sunn raha hai na tu….Roo raha hun main!!!”

I had a serious question after listening to this song, that is, “if you are this much desperate to let the other person know that you are crying, would that not be better to simply ask for this attention directly? (you are anyway doing the same thing in a much more lame way!)”

That’s basically the ‘Khali dimag, shaitan ka ghar” syndrome, so let’s leave it here.

Under one of my initiatives of Women’s Day named the StorytelHER, I was interviewing a Googler today(I would be fortunate to have the other way around as Naukari is important but that did not happen so sad reacts only). This person is amazing and I will be publishing the whole story soon but there is one thing in her to which I can connect to the level infinity. She speaks her heart out in every situation even after facing many adverse consequences.

I can relate because I’ve always been the person who is extremely open when it comes to opinions, relationships, family or any aspect of my life. Even though I was judged throughout, I lost many people and even had to change my living environment because of this habit but that did not stop me from putting my opinion into consideration in a one-on-one conversation. And most importantly, I feel that to make my relations more strong and less deceptive, the people around me must have a clear idea about my thoughts(it never happened though!)

This person has highlighted the power of speaking up and being honestly open even in extreme personal matters. She explained by saying,

“What’s the worse that can happen if you speak your opinion? People will be judging you? But they are doing it anyway. So, it becomes your responsibility to make them judge you for who you are and there’s absolutely no harm in it!”

Though she explained it through a series of items about which I will be writing separately but the key takeaway was,

“If you can’t take a stand for yourself, nobody in this world will ever be doing it for you. If you can’t speak your mind out, nobody has the superpowers to decode your Mann Ki Baat”

So the next time someone judges you for your honest opinions, take a moment to absorb that celebrity limelight, thank them for the time they have invested in thinking about you and get over the judgments. That’s how it works!

Thank you for reading \o/
