The First 24 Hours: Day 11 — School Chalen Hum!
Yesterday, I was having a conversation with one of my role models in tech and he told me that he started his journey when he was in standard 8. (When I was in Std. 8th, I was busy flaunting my monitor position and finding more comebacks like Pencil….teri shaadi cancel xD)
The following conversation made me realize that though my school has provided me a platform to showcase my talents and stand out but it did not provide me the actual picture of the real world out there because of the limited exposure and talents within the students(“andho mein kaane raja” is what my mom used to call me).
I do not regret it because I had the best days of my life in school but it would be more beneficial if someone have guided me a little early towards the practical skills which this tech world demands us to know.
I am also a believer in the saying “Jab Jaago tab Savera” but we cannot deny the fact that starting early always has an upper hand in any situation.
It was clearly noted in “How Successful People Think” by Maxwell John C. that most of the successful people have a common trait of starting early in their careers.
Considering this, I came up with an education experiment that I will be working on for the next quarter(if everything works out well).
I shortlisted the nearby English medium schools in Vellore(language is a big problem in South India) and decided to visit there.
The complete day was very nostalgic and fruitful. I met students, teachers, watched their annual day skit and finally met the principal to propose a plan. I was literally telling every student I got to meet that “ Asli maze toh tumhare hi hain”.(in a better way though xD)
Despite the fact that my plan did not receive a clear positive response anywhere, by the end of the day, I was satisfied and felt empowered.
You believe it or not, but if you’re reading this, you too are privileged enough to empower others.
I strongly suggest each one of you to
Find your way of giving back to society because the moment your learning and time has a greater value for others, you are rich in yourself!
Thank you for reading!
